  • Day 1- Arrival
    Arrive Cape Town, transfer to B&B/Guest House/Hotel (5 nights).

  • Day 2 - Cape Town City and Robben Island Tour
    The tour starts with a ride in the cable car to the top of Table Mountain for a spectacular view of the whole of the Cape Peninsula.(Weather Permitting) If the weather is not permitting we will drive to Signal Hill to get a general view of Cape Town. We then visit the historic Malay Quarter including the Bo-Kaap Museum, The Company Gardens and the South African Museum to see the Khoi/San exhibition, and then stroll down Government Avenue past the Houses of Parliament to Church Square. We then drive through Cape Town for a view of historic buildings and stop off at The Castle and have lunch at the V & A Waterfront. In the afternoon we take the ferry to Robben Island where we are taken on a bus tour of the island including the prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated

  • Day 3 - Cape Peninsula Tour
    Includes a scenic drive through Sea Point, Camps Bay, and Landudno to Hout Bay. From there we go to the Groot Constantia Wine Estate to visit the historic home of Simon van der Stel, and then via Ou Kaapse Weg and the scenic western seaboard route to Cape Point Nature Reserve, where we have lunch. We then return via False Bay stopping at the Penguin Colony at the Boulders and pass through Simon's Town, Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay.

  • Day 4 - Winelands Tour
    We first visit the old Cape Dutch homestead on the Spier Wine Estate, and then take a drive through Stellenbosch, stopping off at various historic sites. We then visit two estates just outside Stellenbosch for wine tasting and a cellar tour. From there we proceed over the Hell's Hoogte Pass via Pniel to Franschhoek for lunch. In the afternoon we visit the Huguenot Memorial and then on to one or two more estates for wine, brandy and/or cheese tasting (depending on the preferences of the group)

  • Day 5 - Birding and Botanical Tour
    We then go to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens for lunch and enjoy the Cape fynbos, indigenous trees and look for endemic birds such as the Cape Sugarbird, Orangebreasted Sunbird, and many others. We then continue to Hermanus where guests can enjoy this beautiful little town famous for its whale watching. Overnight in Hermanus.

  • Day 6
    The tour departs following Hermanus and continues onto Mossel Bay for lunch. In Mossel Bay we visit the Maritime Museum housing the replica of the Bartholomew Dias Ship which landed in Mossel bay in 1488. Old Granary which houses the information centre and a display of labeled wild flowers from surrounding areas. Post Office Tree, in the 1500s passing, ships would collect mail from a boot hanging in this tree. Today you will find a post box in the shape of a boot, where you can post a letter. A special franking mark, in the shape of a boot, is stamped on any mail posted in this box. St. Blaize Cave was inhabited many years ago by the Khoi/San and is today a national monument. We then continue over the Robbinson Pass to Outdshoorn. The group will overnight in Oudtshoorn, ostrich capital of the world.

  • Day 7 - Klein Karoo Area
    After breakfast the tour will proceed to the Cango Caves, one of the 23 cave systems known to be in the Swartberg Mountains. Here guest will go on the scenic tour of the caves. In Oudtshoorn we visit the Cango Wild Life Ranch, with its cheetahs (if you are older than 16 years, you may touch a cheetah at an extra cost), lion, white tigers and many other animals. The tour then continues to Safari Ostrich Farm and Welgeluk (one of the ostrich palaces built, in 1910) where we go on a guided tour of the farm and enjoy a traditional lunch. We return to George via the Outeniqua Pass. Overnight in George (2 nights)

  • Day 8 - Garden Route West
    Guests will be collected from their accommodation facility in George and continue on to Mossel Bay. Lunch Guided game drive through Botlierskop Wild Game Farm, where lion, rhino, buffalo, giraffe and a large variety of buck, birds and flora can be seen. This is a must for any tourist visiting the area! Return to George.

  • Day 9 - George & Knysna
    Guests will be collected from their accommodation facility in George, the tour will then continue on to the Dutch Reformed Church, which took 12 years to build and was taken into use in 1842. Main features: Yellowwood ceilings, door made of teak, stinkwood pulpit and yellowwood pillars. This is also a National Monument. The Slave Tree with chain imbedded in it. The Drostdy(George Museum), which was built in 1811 for the first landrost(magistrate) and now houses the George Museum. St. Marks Cathedral, said to be the smallest cathedral in the southern hemisphere. Designed by Sophia Grey and consecrated in 1850. Lunch at the Heritage Museum Heritage Railway Museum, housing a large collection of steam engines, vintage cars and South African railway history. Guests will board the ‘Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe’ (Steam Train). The group will then enjoy a scenic train trip to Knysna, where we overnight.

  • Day 10 (Garden Route East)
    Knysna Water Front where you can look at many little shops and buy momentos for loved ones. The tour then goes by Ferry across the Knysna Estuary to the World Renowned Featherbed Nature Reserve, where a tractor and trailer take the tourists on a guided tour of the area, those that would like to, can walk along the very scenic coast line, back to the restaurant for lunch. The walk takes +/- 1 hour. If you do not want to walk back, you can return by tractor and trailer. Some of the most beautiful pictures can be taken of the Knysna Heads from the reserve. After lunch the Ferry takes the tourists as close as possible to the mouth of ‘The Heads’, weather permitting and then back to the harbour. Informative drive and scenic stops to the following: St. George’s Anglican Church, which is a National Monument. John Benn’s pilot house from which ships were guided into the harbour through the Knysna Heads. Visit view points of the world famous ‘Knysna Heads’. Visit ‘Feather’s Of Knysna’, where you will see art in the making. Here life like birds and animals are made out of wood and realistically painted. Continue onto Plettenberg Bay where we overnight.

  • Day 11 - Garden Route East
    Plettenburg Bay: Scenic drive through Plettenburg Bay and stop at The View Point on Signal Hill. Continue on to Robberg Nature Reserve for a +/- 2 ½ hour hike. Robberg consists of beautiful rock formations, fossils, an excavation site in a cave; seals, fantastic flora and shipwrecks can be seen in the ocean below. (This hike is for fairly fit people) Or Two and a half hour Ocean Safari Trip around the Robberg Peninsula as well as the Plettenberg Bay Area where you can view whale(during whale season if in the area), dolphin and seals at the Robberg Colony. Lunch and then continue to Tsitsikamma National Park via Natures Valley and the Bloukrans Forest and over the Pass. Overnight at Tsitsikamma, free time.

  • Day 12 - Tzitzikamma Area
    Spend until 10h00 at the Tzitzikamma National Park, our tourists can walk around the park, which has breath taking views of the sea breaking against the rocks. If you would like to, you can walk along the boardwalk up to and over the hanging bridge, which crosses over the Storms River. We then continue for a walk through the forest and visit the Big Tree, an 800 year old yellowwood as well as the Fallen Tree, also a yellowwood, indigenous to South Africa. Stop at the Paul Sauer/Storms River Bridge (opened in 1956), which was designed by Richardo Morandi, of Rome, a single canterlever bridge, 186m long and stands 120m above the waters of the Storms River. 30 years after the bridge was first opened, it was widened and now incorporates a walkway on both sides of the road, a great tourist attraction. We take a walk over the bridge and look down at the breath taking view. Light Lunch We then continue via the N2 to Port Elizabeth, and then onto The Zuurberg Mountain Inn for dinner and a good nights sleep.

        

  • Day 13 - Township Tour & Addo Elephant Park
    After breakfast the tour departs for the ADDO Elephant Park. Guests will then be taken on a game drive through the Addo Elephant National Park for about 3 hours , where you can see elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard as well as some of the species of birds. Lunch at the Addo Elephant Park. We then continue to Port Elizabeth and book into accommodation facility. (Next 2 nights)

  • Day 14 - Trip to Port Elizabeth and Town visit
    After breakfast, guests will be collected and taken on a three hour tour of the township experiencing the traditional way of living of the local inhabitants-the historical origins of the township etc. After lunch guests will be taken on a city tour of Port Elizabeth City. For those wishing to an evening can be enjoyed at the Casino.

  • Day 15
    Transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport, where you fly to Cape Town or Johannesburg International Airport and then back home.
