Garden Route 10 Night / 11 Day Golfing Package

               

Day 1:
Arrive at George Airport, where we will collect guests and take them to their accommodation. Settle in.

Day 2:
18 Holes of golf at Mossel Bay Golf Club, after lunch, an informative drive through Mossel Bay and visit the Bartholomeu Dias Museum Complex. Mossel Bay marked the arrival of the first Europeans as well as the beginning of Christianity, on 3 February 1488, in South Africa. In the complex we also find the renowned Post Office Tree, which is 500 years old, where early sailors of the 1500’s used to put their letters in an old boot which hung in the tree and served as a mail collection point for ships going back home. You can post a letter at the tree and it will receive special franking in the shape of a boot.

Day 3:
18 Holes of golf at the George Golf Course. This Golf Course is situated in a picturesque setting with a beautiful view of the Outeniqua Mountains. After lunch we continue with an informative tour around George, the golfing capital of the Garden Route and home to the famous Outeniqua Railway Museum. Here you can take a walk down memory lane and view some of the old steam engines, train coaches and vintage cars.

Day 4:
After breakfast we travel over the Outeniqua Mountains to the Cango Caves, largest recorded cave system in the Swartberg Mountains. This is 1 of the 23 cave systems found in the mountains. We then return to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of South Africa where we visit Safari Ostrich Show Farm. Here we go for a guided tour and have lunch (included) consisting of ostrich streak etc. for those not wishing to try this local delicacy, alternate meals can be arranged. Before returning to George over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass, we visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch where you will be taken on a guided tour of the crocodile farm as well as being able to view all different kinds of wild cats. Here you can even touch a cheetah at an extra cost if you are over the age of 16 years.

Day 5:
18 Holes of golf at the Fancourt Golf Courses. Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate which hosted The President’s Cup 2003. This premiere golf course is world famous and the peaceful and beautiful surroundings are a highlight of our golfing tour. Lunch can be enjoyed at one of the Fancourt Hotel Restaurants. Free afternoon to relax or go shopping. Transport will be provided.

Day 6:
18 Holes of golf at Knysna Golf Course. Lunch can be enjoyed at the Knysna Waterfront. We then continue on to the St. Georege Anglican Church, a Sophy Grey design, built in the early 1800's The group will then proceed to the town centre for some free time to do shopping or just enjoy the culture and atmosphere of this scenic little town. We then book into our accommodation for two nights.

Day 7:
We take a ferry across the beautiful Knysna Estuary and then visit the famous Featherbed Nature Reserve. Guests can enjoy a guided trailer tour of the reserve, and then take a leisurely walk back to the restaurant where we have lunch under the Milkwood trees. After lunch we board the Ferry to go as close as possible to the "Knysna Heads", depending on the weather. Return to the water front harbour by Ferry. The tour will then proceed to different viewpoints of the Heads.

Day 8:
18 Holes of golf at Sparrebosch Golf Course, described as "South Africa's Postcard to Golf", every golfer's MUST DO! After lunch you will continue onto "The Garden Of Eden" for a stroll in the indigenous forest. The tour continues to the Knysna Elephant Park where guests can touch and feed the elephants. We then proceed to Plettenberg Bay and book into our accommodation.

Day 9:
18 Holes of golf at Plettenberg Bay Golf Course, after lunch the group will experience a scenic drive through Plettenberg Bay and we visit some breath taking view points. The tour will then proceed onto Monkeyland or Birds of Eden, for a tour conducted by an experienced guide. Visitors can expect to see and walk amongst many different species of monkeys and forest dwelling birds.

Day 10:
9 Holes at Goose Valley Golf Club, after lunch the group will then proceed to Central Beach where they will board one of the dolphin and whale watching boats. Guest have the opportunity of experiencing an ocean adventure and many scenic views of Robberg peninsula as well as viewing dolphin, whale and seals very close to the boat if in the area. Return to over night at accommodation in George

Day 11:
After breakfast we depart for the airport.

• Extra tours can be arranged for those not playing golf. Tours can be extended to accommodate golfing in Cape Town and surrounding areas.
• Please contact us for itineraries including the Cape Town area, Hermanus and Arabella Golf Course.
• Tours can also be tailor made to suite your groups needs.
• A minimum of 2 guests to take advantage of a personalised tour package.
